twilight the movie1
This is a book that is very popular, more with the girls rather than boys; Twilight. Twilight is the first of 4 books in the series; Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. This story is not a normal high school romance. There is a bit of a twist too. As usual it is Boy meets Girl. Boy falls in love with Girl, but here is where it is different; the Boy turns out to be a vampire. Twilight is about how the Isabella Swan has to handle being in love with Edward Cullen, the vampire. I think the story is one of the best stories I have heard in a long time. The story is quite different and not so predictable and keeps you interested for the entire time.
Well in November the movie for the first of the Twilight series had come out and I (a big supporter of the books) watched the movie straight away. My first reaction to the movie my reaction was: “hmm that was okay.” but a friend of mine told me that it must have been so hard to squeeze 500 pages of the book into just and hour and a half, and I have to admit it might have been a bit too hard for the director but after watching it the second time then I thought “actually is quite good.” If you have not read twilight or seen the movie I honestly recomend watching the movie before reading the book and if you are planning not to read or watch twilight I ask you to change your mind and just try and read the book.
Your enthusiasm for the movie and the novel come across Nayana. You also provide some good initial ideas about what it is that makes ‘Twilight’ original and different from other books/films in this genre. To raise the level of your analysis you need to go deeper though. We need comments on characterisation, plot development and themes. Or you could have elaborated on the differences between the novel and the film….Mr C
